An investigation is underway as a result of allegations of a crime at Shorty’s Saloon, 288 Sinsinawa Avenue, East Dubuque.  As part of that investigation, a search warrant was executed at Shorty’s Saloon on June 30, 2026 involving the East Dubuque Police Department, the Jo Daviess County Sheriff’s Department and the Illinois State Police Crime Scene Investigations Unit.

The City of East Dubuque and the East Dubuque Police Department cannot comment on this ongoing investigation.

The investigation revealed numerous violations of the liquor license of Shorty’s Saloon that add to multiple violations as determined by the East Dubuque Liquor Commission in the past three months. 

Due to the seriousness of violations involving violation of closing hours (third offense) and serious violations threatening public health and safety, the Mayor, in his role as Liquor Commissioner, has revoked the liquor license of Shorty’s Saloon.
