As a precaution because water pressure was temporarily reduced, the city is issuing a boil order for all the flats and downtown. The order will include Wisconsin Avenue below Hyacinth Street, Wall Street, Sinsinawa Avenue, and Montgomery below Oxford Street.
Please boil drinking or cooking water for 10 to 15 minutes before you use.

Update at 4:16pm The water main has been repaired and the system is being filled. THE BOIL ORDER IS STILL IN EFFECT. Please limit use as much as possible until the tower is filled and full pressure restored. The Boil Order cannot be lifted until the water is tested and the water cannot be tested until the system is brought back to full pressure. Thank you for your patience.
Public notice 7.16.25 Boil order: due to the water main break the city of East Dubuque, excluding the Frentress Lake Water system, is under a boil order until further notice.
This Applies to anyone receiving water from East Dubuque with the exception of the Frentress Lake Water System.
