1. 23-0542 Call to Order – Mayor

NEW BUSINESS:
2. 23-0543 Appoint City Attorney in the City of East Dubuque, Jo Daviess County, Illinois / City Manager Herrig
Attorney Kurt will be leaving us. Municipal Law is a specialized field that is few and far between. Had interviewed two attorneys and talked with another. City Manager Herrig interviewed Sue Hess and Phil Jensen while touching base with Joe Nack. Attorney Nack said they are not interested because of their workload at this time. After talking with Sue thought this would be the most seamless transition since everything in the office. Working with Terry she is familiar with the city. Thought she would do a great job in representing us.
This is Attorney Kurt’s last night.
Attorney Hess – looking forward to working with everyone.
Attorney Kurt – has worked with the city for 25 years and it has been an honor and privilege. Whenever you are thinking of doing something, making a motion or about saying something always ask yourself this question is what I am about to do in the best interest for the City of East Dubuque. Putting aside any personal agendas. That is not why you are sitting here. You took an oath to follow the constitution of the State of Illinois, US and City. His dad said the right thing is the hardest thing to do.

Motion by Alderperson Degenhardt to Go into Executive Session second by Alderperson Belken ROLL CALL: Ayes – Alderperson Belken, Alderperson Burgmeier, Alderperson Degenhardt, Alderperson Fluhr, Alderperson Meier and Alderperson Robey Motion carried
Motion by Alderperson Belken to Leave Executive Session second by Alderperson Burgmeier ROLL CALL: Ayes – Alderperson Belken, Alderperson Burgmeier, Alderperson Degenhardt, Alderperson Fluhr, Alderperson Meier and Alderperson Robey Motion carried
4. 23-0545 Discussion and Possible Action on Matters Discussed in Executive Session in the City of East Dubuque, Jo Daviess County, Illinois / Mayor Digman, City Manager Herrig
City Manager Herrig did ask if Alderperson Robey will be giving FOIA request to him or straight to Telegraph Herald writer John Kruse. Alderperson Robey said she will hand the request to City Manager Herrig.
