East Dubuque District Library Foundation
The East Dubuque City Council fully supports the East Dubuque District Library Foundation in their efforts to secure funding for a new community center and library expansion. The plan, including a community center, renovation and building expansion, is long overdue. Last year alone, over 20,000 visits were made to our overcrowded library. This library is a place that brings us together as a community meeting the needs of literary and educational purpose along with vital economic and human services.
With a deadline of March 30, 2021, the foundation is entering a campaign to raise $400,000 to assure the matching challenge of one of our East Dubuque families. When those dollars are secured the library will also meet the requirements to obtain an additional $433,000 from the state of Illinois. Combined with a gift of $400,000 from CVR Energy, the East Dubuque Fertilizer plant, this amount equates to $1,633,000. Imagine –give once and your dollar amount is tripled! What an opportunity!
Please join the City of East Dubuque in the support by viewing the following video and visiting the library foundation website.
Due to the restrictions of Covid 19 this campaign will rely mainly on virtual outreach.
