Just a reminder to vote tomorrow and wish all the candidate’s good luck.

                              ii.   City Hall closed April 7th for Good Friday

                             iii.   City Garage Sales May 11-13, 2023, sign up till May 3rd by 4:30 pm

                             iv.   City Wide Clean Up Day May 13, 2023, 6 am till 1 pm

A dumpster will be available at the City Garage. Limit of one pickup load. A sticker is required for electronics and large appliances which can be purchased at City Hall.

                              v.   Rose Noble Resignation

President of Galena Country Tourism announced her resignation. Wish her we in the future.

                             vi.   Downtown Water System Study

First major meeting for the water system improvements for the flats area. A copy of the minutes has been included in your packet.

Alderman Hoffmann – Still need to look at going under the tracks.

They said the one under the tracks will only benefit a select few. Looking for an alternative to get to everyone in the flats area but turning into multi-phase project. Checking sanitary sewer lines in the flats area. Just check and do not anticipate any problems.

                            vii.   Back to Business Program Grants

Can help to support some of our businesses.

They are holding a meeting at the Fire Station right now. Please support the Fire Department.

   5.  23-0405    Discussion and Possible Action to Draft an Ordinance Prohibiting Low Speed Vehicles on Road in the City of East Dubuque, Jo Daviess County, Illinois / Mayor Degenhardt, City Manager Herrig

Had a gentleman come in to see what regulations we have for low-speed vehicles. The speed would be 20 to 25 mph. This is what the state allows. If we do not want this, we will have to do something to prohibit it.

Alderman Belken – would not be able to go on highway.

Alderman Burgmeier – Does not include ATV or UTV.

Alderman Hoffmann – Would be stuck in their quadrant.

   6.  23-0406    Discussion and Possible Action to Approve Purchase for Street Sweeper in the City of East Dubuque, Jo Daviess County, Illinois / Mayor Degenhardt, City Manager Herrig

Mark Fluhr – Hopper would need to be fixed. The chaise is in good condition, but the hopper is shot. Hoppers are very expensive $25,000 to $35,000. Ours is all rusty out lived its use. Use is
15 years might be able to get 20 yrs. Galena trades in theirs every 5 years.

Talking to salesperson that someone would be interested in ours. Gave a couple of decisions.

Mark will know more when he sees them. The new one is coming in May, and we are looking for options on what we need to do.

Will still use ours until decide on what we need to do.

Alderman Hoffmann – would like them to see it before they pass.

Alderman Walsh – would like to see quote on hopper.

About 40% efficiency with everything fixed on one we have.

Would only give scrap price. They do not want as a trade in.

Will get information on used.

No action required.

   7.  23-0407    Discussion and Possible Action to Approve Change Order No. 1 for the Contract A Water Tower Project in the City of East Dubuque, Jo Daviess County, Illinois / Mayor Degenhardt, City Manager Herrig

An update on this was discussed at the last meeting. Basically, three things that are costing us more money tank interior coating to apply with NSF 600, exterior coating we are doing the underside of the bowl which did not originally plan on doing and looking at logo that was similar to Frentress Lake water tower but shown a nicer logo that would look better. This is the only change order we have had for this project, which is $26,150.00.
