As of July 28, 2011, Mayor George Young has declared a state of emergency in the City of East Dubuque due to:
Rain Flooding, Road Closures, & Washouts
The City of East Dubuque Emergency Preparedness Plan has been activated to deal with the disaster. East Dubuque will be working closely with additional emergency agencies to effectively respond to this emergency.
All Citizens are asked to obey all laws, regulations, and orders for the duration of the emergency. Complete co-operation with emergency response personnel will greatly assist in recovering from this emergency situation.
Access to the City of East Dubuque has been restored. IL 35 is limited to one lane by the East Dubuque Elementary School.
The Jo Daviess County Emergency Management Agency is conducting a damage assessment of residences and businesses to ascertain how much damage the storms on July 27-28, 2011 caused in Jo Daviess County. These damage reports are needed to determine if Jo Daviess County will qualify for Federal Disaster Assistance.
If your home received damage due to the recent storms, please be sure to report it as soon as possible. You can report your damage on-line by going to www.jodaviess.org From the home page, scroll down to the center of the page, and you will see a link listed as Initial Flood Damage on Line Form for Property Owners. Complete the form and click the submit button.
